A Place For Everything
Kitchen Remodel
Client Must Haves
The clients wanted an updated kitchen that had better storage. Due to her height, upper cabinets were inconvenient for the wife. She was a baker and requested more counter space and a place to keep her baking supplies and equipment. The fireplace had to be designed to work with the kitchen.
Unique Features
The new gas range dictated the layout of the new kitchen while height considerations determined how best to design storage. Base cabinets equipped with cabinet inserts like plate and pot drawers, tray pullouts, utensil pullouts, a corner susan, etc provide primary storage. Since the homeowner preferred to keep her mixer on top of the counter, cabinetry was clustered around this area making it easy and convenient to bake. The shaker perimeter cabinets’ white and grey split finish and white quartz countertop contrast nicely with the white painted island made to look like a piece of furniture and topped with butcher block.
The original woodburning fireplace was replaced with a gas insert and the wall cladded with stacked stone that compliments the finish in the kitchen.
Client Review
“My husband and I worked with Rita on three home remodel projects (master bathroom, kitchen, second bathroom, main floor fireplace, flooring throughout the house and a couple others). We loved working with her. She asked us how we wanted the space to work, then she presented us with two designs. She was spot on! We made a couple tweaks and love all the finished work. Her contractors were clean, reliable, and on time, and we trusted them being in our home when we were at work. She helped us select everything we needed for our project from paint color, to flooring to fixtures and door pulls, and counter tops. We appreciated that she was willing to meet us at the stores, and that made the process seamless. She was in contact with us, keeping us updated and dropped in to see the progress and meet with the contractors. We appreciated her attention to detail and her friendly personality. We have no more projects, but we would definitely hire her again.”
