Bathroom Remodel

Client Must Haves

The clients requested that the tub be removed. They wanted a bathroom that had double sinks, a larger shower, a sitdown area for makeup with a jewelry cabinet, and to have a magazine rack that could hold 3 copies of the National Geographic in the toilet area. The new shower area also had to accommodate the height difference between the husband and the wife. Shiplap as a feature wall was a must have.

Unique Features

The shiplap wall behind the vanity sets off the space and gives the rustic charm with a modern casual vibe that the homeowners wanted. Light grey cabinetry, carrara marble countertop and dark grey shower walls create timeless appeal. Replacing the tub with a built-in storage bench created multiple benefits: freed up space for a larger shower area, installation of a double vanity sink and ready access to the window. To address the height disparity and create a great shower experience for each user, the new shower has a fixed shower head for the husband and a handheld shower on a sliding bar for the wife. A three sided mirror, the over-the counter cabinets and the pullout jewelry drawers in the new make up area combine to make getting ready easier. An inset magazine rack in the toilet area further personalizes the space.

Client Review

“My husband and I worked with Rita on three home remodel projects (master bathroom, kitchen, second bathroom, main floor fireplace, flooring throughout the house and a couple others). We loved working with her. She asked us how we wanted the space to work, then she presented us with two designs. She was spot on! We made a couple tweaks and love all the finished work. Her contractors were clean, reliable, and on time, and we trusted them being in our home when we were at work. She helped us select everything we needed for our project from paint color, to flooring to fixtures and door pulls, and counter tops. We appreciated that she was willing to meet us at the stores, and that made the process seamless. She was in contact with us, keeping us updated and dropped in to see the progress and meet with the contractors. We appreciated her attention to detail and her friendly personality. We have no more projects, but we would definitely hire her again.”
